la philosophie, toujours intempestive, intempestive à chaque époque.

(ドゥルーズ「装置とは何か」GILLES DELEUZE,《Qu'est-ce qu'un dispositif?》in 《Michel Foucault Philosophe》1989年)

Until and unless you discover that money is the root of all good, you ask for your own destruction(アイン・ランド『肩をすくめるアトラス』Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged,1957年)

The Bubble Beneath the Empire By Michael Hudson, August 18, 2026

Michael Hudson & Steve Keen, “The Federal Reserve, The Constitution, and the End US Hegemony,”

Part I, August 14, 2026.

When Greenspan stepped down, the BBC asked me to come to its studio near the World Trade Center for an interview. The front of its website ran the phrase I had used: “After me, the deluge: Alan Greenspan,” from Michael Hudson. That was how I summarized what Greenspan had created by deregulating. He was a follower of Ayn Rand: get rid of government; everything should have a free ride. We don’t want government. Any way of making money is profitable and therefore a benefit to the economy. Even if the money is made parasitically, there is supposedly no such thing as parasitism. Greenspan was part of that clique.

It is my thesis that most universities have fallen prey to the neoliberal discourse as well, and that this is bad both for the universities and for society. It is bad for the university because it destroys creativity and critical thinking. It is bad for society because it endorses a neoliberal identity in students.

The contemporary mission statements of institutions for higher education are crammed with expressions such as ‘productivity', ‘competitiveness', ‘innovation', ‘growth', ‘output financing', ‘core business', ‘stakeholders', ‘bench marking' etcetera. Some expressions in these mission statements refer to former times – e.g. ‘fostering diversity and respect', and ‘cultivating the mind' – but don't let that mislead you, this is just window dressing. The core of the new narrative is economic.

For a long time, universities were static societies in their own microcosm (…) however, this situation changed dramatically, …they are compelled to dance to the music of an invisible administration.

Paul Verhaeghe, Identity, trust, commitment and the failure of contemporary universities, 2013)

現在、世界を席捲する戦争機械なるネオコン、その《ネオコンはネオリベが整えた土壌に根付いた新たな政治形態」« Neoconservatism sewn in the soil prepared by neoliberalism breeds a new political form»》(American Nightmare Neoliberalism, Neoconservatism and De-Democratization, Wendy Brown, 2006)だとしたら、ドゥルーズやフーコーの言っていることは、カントに戻って「統整的理念」の必要性と言い換えてもいいよ。

Let me digress from the main topic for a while. There are people here in this room who hold a very diverse mix of opinions regarding an extremely acute present-day conflict – the Ukraine conflict, and what caused it. I would like to say a few words on this matter. It is a fact that many hundreds or even thousands of experts, your colleagues who will study the materials from this Valdai Club meeting, they have their own opinions on this matter. I am, of course aware that some within the expert community might ask why Russia started the war while talking about peace. I have commented this many times already, but let me say this once again in front of this audience.

Where is the truth? The truth is that we did not want and were not the ones who started to fight. In fact, they started to fight against us. They should have refrained from encouraging aggressive nationalism and Russophobia in Ukraine so as to turn it into a tool for fighting Russia. NATO should not have embarked on an effort to make our historical territories part of its military space in its own interests and should not have planned setting up its bases there. Radicals in Kiev should not have been pushed to a government coup while the de facto illegal regime should not have been pumped full of all kinds of offensive weapons after that. Plans for setting up concentration camps for the people from Donbass and Crimea should not have been drafted. Unarmed people should not have been rolled over by tanks, shelled with missiles and bombed from the air and burnt alive just for being Russian, in terms of both their ethnic background and their spirit.

The list of these do-nots goes on, but let me stop at that. I am convinced that this was an intentional effort to place Russia in a situation when it was simply forced to defend itself with arms in hand to respond to this obvious act of aggression. They pushed us to this brink knowingly and intentionally. Overall, Russophobia, oppressing and killing Russian people and destroying Russia should not be turned into state ideology while striving to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia. This was the way it was all articulated, right? No one forgot this. At least, we did not forget this.

An interview with General Valery Zaluzhny, head of Ukraine’s armed forces

The Economist 2022/12/15

[For us, for the military, the war began in 2014. For me personally in July 2014]。

[Russians and any other enemies must be killed, just killed]、そして最も重要なことは、それを行うことを恐れてはならない、ということです。

2月24日に起こったことは、規模の拡大だけです[all that happened on February 24th was an increase in scale.]
