基本的にAIPAC（米国イスラエル公共問題委員会）から選挙資金提供を受けている候補者全員に反対する動きがある。これは候補者にとってリトマス試験となる脅迫がある。民主党が全国委員会に突きつけるのはこうだ：AIPACから資金提供を受けた政治家への投票を拒否するか？ さて、AIPACは既にこの事態を察知し、こう宣言した： 「AIPACに代わるシオニスト系親イスラエル運動体制を構築せねばならない。シリコンバレーの富裕な億万長者や、イスラエルを守る他の億万長者たちから資金を得る体制だ」と。この意味で、マムダニへの対抗は、政治家たちが自らへの選挙資金提供――とりわけAIPACからの資金、そして他の特殊利益団体からの資金――を維持するための闘いとなるだろう。

そして、これがアメリカの政治選挙制度全体が変貌した姿だ。この国では選挙制度が民営化され、献金者層に売り渡されている。最高裁の「シチズンズ・ユナイテッド」判決の結果、あらゆる企業や献金者が政治家に好きなだけ資金を提供できるようになったのだ。まったく制限がない。 さて、マムダニは他の候補者よりもはるかに少ない資金で選挙に臨み、勝利した。彼はこの制度全体に異議を唱えただけでなく、州全体の選挙や来年の全米選挙に向けて重要な問題を提起した。すなわち、アメリカの政治は選挙の民営化と金融化をどう生き延びるのか？この問題を解決できなければ、アメリカは政治的に失敗国家となるだろう。なぜなら最高裁における右翼の「原理主義」を求める右派の要求とは、憲法を起草した奴隷所有者たちが今日ならどう裁くか？という問いに他ならないからだ。彼らは間違いなく全ての右派勢力を支持するだろう。

there’s a movement to oppose any candidate that’s receiving election financing, basically, from AIPAC. And that’s threatened to become a litmus test for candidates. The Democrats’ opposition to the National Committee is going to be: Will you refuse to vote for any politician who receives money from AIPAC? Well, AIPAC already realized this, and said: We’ve got to create a Zionist pro-Israel campaign system that’s not AIPAC, that’s funded by the wealthy billionaires from Silicon Valley, and other billionaires who are defending Israel. The fight against Mamdani is, in that sense, going to be a fight by politicians to keep receiving campaign contributions for themselves — above all from AIPAC, but also from other donors with special interests.  And that’s what the entire American political election system has turned into. The election system has been privatized in this country, and sold to the donor class. That is the consequence of the Supreme Court’s ruling in Citizens United, that any corporations and any donor can give as much money as they want to politicians. There is no limit at all. Well, Mamdani came in with much less funding than anyone else, and won. So he’s challenged this whole system, but he’s raised the issue for what’s going to be the statewide elections and for next year’s national elections in the United States: How is American politics going to survive this privatization and financialization of elections? If it doesn’t solve this, then the United States is going to be a failed state politically, because the right-wing demand for “originalism” in the Supreme Court is to say, well, what would the slave owners who wrote the Constitution rule today? Well, they would back all of the right wingers.

And so inside of the political system, they are then generating the policies that further concentrate wealth and the advantages of the oligarchs, you know. So we’re in a situation right now of oligarchy and empire. They go hand in hand in the same way that Martin Luther King said, you know, that we have this triple evil of militarism, materialism, extreme materialism, and racism, basically. And, you know, and the system is like an airplane going into a tailspin right now on its way down. And we got to pull out of that, out of that tailspin. And it really requires a systemic fix. And that’s why, you know, that’s why we’re in this race. That’s why we need to be on the ballot in New York. That’s why we need, you know, every one of us to do everything possible, you know, to jump into the mix here and to, you know, get the airplane into a pull-up, we need to pull up out of this tailspin while there’s still time.

MICHAEL HUDSON: Well, basically the real voters are the donor class, the billionaires that you’ve mentioned, because they can give money to back the candidates. And money is what buys television time, buys people to get the signatures on the ballot. And you could say it’s a democracy for the oligarchs, but that’s called oligarchy. And not only do these sort of unelected billionaires end up deciding who gets to be on the ticket in the primaries, depending on who they’re backed, but there’s also the blob, the secret government, the damage of the CIA, NSA, FBI, and the deep state.

It seems that Soros believes he was anointed by God. “I fancied myself as some kind of god ...” he once wrote. “If truth be known, I carried some rather potent messianic fantasies with me from childhood, which I felt I had to control, otherwise they might get me in trouble.”

When asked by Britain’s Independent newspaper to elaborate on that passage, Soros said, “It is a sort of disease when you consider yourself some kind of god, the creator of everything, but I feel comfortable about it now since I began to live it out.”

Soros was more succinct when he explained his life philosophy to biographer Michael Kaufman. “I am kind of a nut who wants to have an impact,” he said. But the speculator’s visions don’t end there. “Next to my fantasies about being God, I also have very strong fantasies of being mad,” Soros once confided on British television. “In fact, my grandfather was actually paranoid. I have a lot of madness in my family. So far I have escaped it.”

〔･･･〕 シェイクスピアは貨幣についてとくに二つの属性をうきぼりにしている。 (1)　貨幣は目に見える神であり、一切の人間的なまたは自然的な諸属性をその反対のものへと変ずるものであり、諸事物の全般的な倒錯と転倒とである。それはできないことごとを兄弟のように親しくする。 (2) 貨幣は一般的な娼婦であり、人間と諸国民との一般的な取りもち役である。
