Civilian targets in Tehran and other cities may be bombed even more heavily. But Iran’s strategy — 'death by a thousand cuts' against the U.S. and Israel — will NOT change. What we are witnessing is an existential war, a do-or-die conflict for Iran. And, beyond that, a war against BRICS and the Global South.

I asked Prof. Marandi whether Tehran is being carpet-bombed day and night — and are Iran’s air defenses performing adequately?  He says air defenses are NOT DISABLED. But the scale of the US and Israeli air forces is enormous, and Iranian systems are working constantly. Many strikes come from missiles launched by jets outside Iranian airspace — over the Gulf, Kuwait or Saudi Arabia.

Prof. Marandi: HUGE gatherings taking place across Iran every night. In Tehran alone, crowds fill around 20 different squares — tens of thousands in each. Despite missile attacks and many residents leaving the city, millions are still on the streets. People chant while anti-aircraft defenses fire above them. And no one runs. Men and women stand their ground. The mood in Tehran is very defiant — people are UNITED.
