このオリバ・ストーンの発言は見逃していたが、2025年のトップツイートというのはいささか大袈裟にしろ、こういう試みは一年を振り返る意味ではよいね。

It’s George Orwell time. Imbecilic accusations against Mr. Putin and his Russia. In the old days, even in the worst of the Cold War, we never referred to Russia as ‘Khrushchev’ or ‘Brezhnev.’ That’s what we’re doing now. We call Russia ‘Putin,’ because Putin, for whatever reason, has been personalized. This isn’t policy. This is a tragic—this is a tragic substitution of hatred for intelligence.”

ウラジーミル・プーチン：プロパガンダ戦争で米国を倒すのは非常に難しい。なぜなら米国は世界のすべてのメディアと多くのヨーロッパのメディアを支配しているから。ヨーロッパ最大のメディアの最終的な受益者はアメリカの金融機関です。あなたはそれを知らないの？したがってこの仕事に関与することは可能だとしても、いわば費用がかかりすぎる。単に情報源にスポットライトを当てるだけでは成果は得られないのです。 Vladimir Putin: In the war of propaganda it is very difficult to defeat the United States because the United States controls all the world's media and many European media. The ultimate beneficiary of the biggest European media are American financial institutions. Don't you know that? ミアシャイマー：そう、プロパガンダがすべてだ。 西側のプロパガンダが優れているのは間違いない。 戦場で起きていることを、ウクライナが成功しているように見せかけ、自国に有利に状況を変えるチャンスがあるかのように見せる西側の能力は、実に見事だ。 問題は、こうしたプロパガンダのせいで、ウクライナの戦場で実際に起きていることについて、西側諸国が完全に歪んだ見方をしてしまっていることだ。 実際、ウクライナ側は絶望的な状況にある。 この戦争に勝つ見込みはない。 この基本的なメッセージが数カ月前に前面に出ていれば、この紛争はウクライナ側に有利に解決していた可能性があり得た。 だがそうではなく、偽の物語を作り出してしまったのだ、ウクライナはよく戦っており、もっと武器を与えさえすれば、さらに大きな成功を収められるという偽の物語を。このような議論は現実とはほとんど関係がなく、ウクライナ側を有利な立場よりも不利な立場に追いやることになる。

Well, this is really all about propaganda and Western propaganda is superb. There’s no question about it. The ability of the West to spin what's happening on the battlefield in a way that makes it look like Ukraine is doing well and stands a good chance of turning the tide  is really quite remarkable. And the problem is that  all of this propaganda has created a completely distorted picture in the west of what is actually happening on the battlefields in Ukraine. And the fact is that the Ukrainians are in Desperate Straits and there's no way they can win this war and if that basic message had been put forward months ago, there's a good chance that this war could have been settled then to the advantage of the Ukrainians. But instead, we have created this false narrative that the Ukrainians are doing well, and if we just give them some more weapons, they'll do even better. This line of argument bears little resemblance to reality and is basically going to end up making the Ukrainians worse off rather than better off…

The idea that Putin is reconstructing the Russian empire is childish propaganda. Excuse me. If anyone knows the day-to-day and year-to-year history, this is childish stuff. Yet childish stuff seems to work better than adult stuff. So, there were no territorial demands at all before the 2014 coup. Yet the United States decided that Yanukovych must be overthrown because he favored neutrality and opposed NATO enlargement. It's called a regime change operation.(…)  In the American Government, if you don't like the other side, you don't negotiate with them, you try to overthrow them, preferably, covertly. If it doesn't work covertly, you do it overtly. You always say it's not our fault. They're the aggressor. They're the other side. They're “Hitler.” That comes up every two or three years. Whether it's Saddam Hussein, whether it's Assad, whether it's Putin, that's very convenient. That's the only foreign policy explanation the American people are ever given.

西側諸国全体で、全くの見透かしの嘘が真実に変貌した。その嘘とは、ロシアがウクライナに侵攻したというものだ。〔･･･〕 真実が嘘に置き換えられたのはなぜ、どのようにして起こったのか、自問してみてほしい。答えは、戦争で利益を得る者たちが戦争プロパガンダを提供しているからだ。

A totally transparent blatant lie has been turned into a truth throughout the Western world.  The lie is that Russia invaded Ukraine. (…)  Ask yourselves how and why did the truth get replaced by a lie? The answer is that those who profit from war provide the war propaganda.
