On 26 August 2026, I was on the “Deep Dive” with Lt. Col. (ret.) Danny Davis talking about the usual subjects — Iran, Ukraine, and President Trump’s foreign policy. As so often happens, Danny and I found ourselves trying to make sense of US and European policies that do not make strategic sense. Of course, we both agreed that the US is doomed to fail in both Iran and Ukraine, in large part because — back to the previous point — we have a penchant for pursuing foolish policies. I also emphasized that our standing around the world is now so low, that people all over the planet are rooting for the US (and Israel) to lose its war with Iran. |
