第三次世界大戦はどうにか回避できるという幻想にいまだしがみついている人たちがいる

 

以下、RTの記事「イランが陥落すれば次は私たちだ（‘If Iran falls, we’re next’)」2025年6月22日より。8人のロシア専門家の発言が集められているが、ここではアレクサンダー・ドゥーギンの見解のみを抜き出す。

Some still cling to the illusion that World War III might somehow pass us by. It won’t. We are already in the thick of it. The US has carried out a bombing strike against Iran – our ally. Nothing stopped them. And if nothing stopped them from bombing Iran, then nothing will stop them from targeting us next. At some point, they may decide that Russia, like Iran, shouldn’t be allowed to possess nuclear weapons – or find some other pretext to strike. Make no mistake: we are at war.

The US can attack whether we advance or retreat. It’s not about strategy – it’s about will. Ukraine may not be Israel in the eyes of the West, but it plays a similar role. Israel didn’t always exist; it was created and quickly became a proxy for the collective West – though some Israelis would argue the opposite, that the West is merely a proxy for Israel. Ukraine has followed the same trajectory. No wonder Zelensky isn’t asking for Western support – he’s demanding it, including nuclear arms. The model is clear. And just like Israel bombs Gaza with impunity, Kiev bombarded Donbass for years – albeit with fewer resources and less restraint from Moscow. Our appeals to the UN and calls for peace have become meaningless. If Iran falls, Russia is next. Trump, once again, is firmly in the grip of the neocons – just as he was during his first term. The MAGA project is over. There is no “great America,”only standard-issue globalism in its place. Trump thinks he can strike once – like he did with Soleimani – and then walk it back. But there’s no walking this back. He has triggered a world war he cannot control, let alone win.

Now, everything hinges on Iran. If it stays on its feet and keeps fighting, it might still prevail. The Strait of Hormuz is closed. The Houthis have blocked traffic in the Red Sea. As new players enter the fray, the situation will evolve rapidly. China will try to stay out – for now. Until the first blow lands on them, too. But if Iran folds, it won’t just lose itself – it will expose the rest of us. That includes Russia, now facing an existential choice. The question isn’t whether to fight. Russia is already fighting. The question is how. The old methods are exhausted. That means we’ll have to find a new way to fight – and fast.

「帝国の自殺」で掲げた中井久夫を再掲すればーー、

戦争中の指導層に愕然とするほど願望思考が行き渡っているのを実に多く発見する。しかも、彼らは願望思考に固執する。これは一般原則といってよい。これに比べれば、自己と家族の生命の無事を願う民衆や兵士の願望思考は可愛らしいものである。ほとんどすべての指導層が戦争は一カ月か、たかだか三カ月のうちに自国の勝利によって終わると考える傾向がある、第一次大戦においてはそれは特に顕著であった。すべての列強の指導層が積極的には戦争を望まないまま、「ヨーロッパの自殺」といわれる大焚火の中に自国を投入していった。列強のすべての指導層は、恫喝によって相手が屈すると思った。そのための動員令であり、臨戦体制であり、最後通牒であった。しかし、相手も同じことを思っていた。〔･･･〕願望思考の破綻が明々白々となった後、容易に堕落して「終結の仕方が見えないという形での堕落した戦争」となる。 (中井久夫『戦争と平和 ある観察』第6章)

指導層だけでなく、ツイッター上では一般庶民の「可愛らしい」願望思考が散見される。中井久夫が言うように、これが一般原則なのだろう。また願望思考が実現される可能性を全否定する者では私はない。

だが現在是非とも必要不可欠なのは、ドゥーギンのようなペシミズムなのではないか。

国民の人心を考えると、しっかりしたペシミズムを持つことが大事だと思います。ペシミズムは普通、人を弱らせるように見られます。しかし、節度を持ってしっかり踏まえれば、かえって活力が出るぐらいに私は思っているんです。（古井由吉「新潮 45」2012 年 1 月号 片山杜秀との対談）

What does this narcissist egomaniac do then? Does he restrike? Does he say, we're going to bomb again knowing that the weapon, the best weapon, he had six B2 bombers with 12 massive ordinance penetrators didn't do the job? Does he use nuclear weapons now? I mean, this is literally one of…we're in a very dangerous situation. And now what happens when the reality that his claims he made about destroying the Iranian nuclear program, he hasn't destroyed anything. It's been evacuated. It is in hiding and we don't know where it is and we don't know how to find it. What does he do now? Does he say, I'm going to bomb you into oblivion until you declare the totality of your program and subject it to international inspections? And what weapons does he use? We don't have an infinite number of these weapons. At what point in time does this become a nuclear problem for the United States? We have crossed the Rubicon. This is a very dangerous, dangerous path that we are undertaking. And we don't have good leaders. We don't have good leaders making sound decisions. And the proof of that is the decision they make to support this act of insanity.

Prof. Jeffrey Sachs: It was so crazy that I didn't think it would happen. Honestly, this is my naivete, I have to say, because I constantly overestimate the idea of a rational response to our circumstances and I underestimate the hubris, the arrogance, the hatreds and the readiness of people like Netanyahu to bring us to the brink of nuclear Armageddon. By the way, I have to say, and I should add, there is some group, bizarre as it sounds, that looks at the prospect of nuclear Armageddon and shrugs their shoulders and says, well, that's all biblical prophecy in the book of Revelation. I get my email from American Christian Evangelicals who are the major voter base for Israeli extremism. And I get letters explaining to me, Mr. Sachs, it's all in the prophecy. And the darker things get, the more these are sign of the times, of the coming Armageddon. That to me is perhaps the most terrifying point, that some people on this planet actually look at the prospect of Armageddon not only with equanimity, but even with expectation. This is terrifying. And there are millions of American voters like that, weird as can be, I have to say. But actually, that's the fact.

この攻撃は、まさに転換点として記憶されるだろう。「ルールに基づく秩序」という最後の幻想が崩れ去り、最後の抑制のガードレールが取り払われ、世界が世界紛争の極めて危険で混沌とした、統制の取れない局面に突入した瞬間だった。その影響は中東だけにとどまらない。政治的、経済的、そして軍事的に、世界の隅々にまで波及するだろう。そして、西側諸国の政治思想に根本的な転換がない限り、この深淵から引き返すのはもう手遅れかもしれない。

This attack may well be remembered as a turning point — when the last illusions of “rules-based order” dissolved, when the final guardrails of restraint were removed and when the world stumbled into a particularly dangerous, chaotic and ungoverned phase of global conflict. The fallout will not be limited to the Middle East. It will spread — politically, economically and militarily — into every corner of the world. And unless there is a radical shift in Western political thinking, it may soon be too late to pull back from the abyss.
